Black & White Wednesday || ... on a road less traveled

Wow, this week has simply flown by!
It's time again for Black & White Wednesdays ..
and it looks like I'm on a roll here, although I am a day late!!

{also linking up this week with Wordless Wednesday
and Sweet Shot Tuesday}

First I have to share about last week's photo that I entered
over at Black & White Wednesdays ...

I didn't realize they judged and voted on the entries, so
I was surprised to see that my image came in third place!!
Still not quite sure how the voting does work,
but I do want to congratulate the first place winner,
as well as the two that came in second,
and I want to thank those who had voted for my entry!

Now, for this week I have three other friends to share with you ...

One day, a few years back, and on a road less traveled,
my husband and I met these three very sweet horses.
We stopped and shared some of our apples with them,

and after getting to know them a bit,
we affectionately named them Peter, Paul, and Mary.

Since that day, we would travel that road often,
stopping to share our apples and some conversation
with our three special friends.
They were all very grateful, and so, to thank me ...
well, you can see they didn't mind posing for a quick photo!

I am so thankful for the images I have of them,
for, sadly, the last few times we've gone, they haven't been there.
I've been concerned, wondering if the owners could no longer keep up with their needs.

We never did see the barn or the owner's house ...
it must have been a back field to their property that ran along
the road we traveled where we would see them.

Oh the treasures you can find on a road less traveled ...
yes, we do miss our three special friends, Peter, Paul, and Mary!

We'll be going back again, soon ... I can only hope they will be there ...
and just in case ... we'll take those extra apples!

Black & White Wednesday || Love is ...

My oh my, it's been far too long since I visited this little corner of the web ...
much has happened, but God has been faithful and so loving to my family.
We're living, breathing, praying, and trusting through one day at a time
knowing that His love sustains us. 

Well, I thought I would get back into the swing of things
here with a weekly photo challenge.

I haven't been doing a lot of photography lately,
but I'm working my way back into that, as well!

This challenge is called Black and White Wednesday,
and here is my entry for this week.

This is my dear sister-in-law and great niece ...
the expression of love.
Yes, a perfect word for today ... or any day!

ELECTING TO TRUST .....

On the eve of all the unknowing,

when sitting and looking back on everything,

you could see it -

Somehow all of life's failings are a failure to somehow trust God.

Light caught in the trees.

The trees stood in light. 

Stood in this quiet willingness to grow into the unknown.

And there, it comes in the stillness, comes like a light warming the wood and all the years -

There is unwavering peace today ....

when an uncertain tomorrow ....
